Install Saada

Just follow the installer instructions.

The installer will ask the following inputs

The installer can be run by a double click. If not, run java -jar Saada1.4.1.jar. Saada1.4.1.jar is the name of the actual downloaded file.

Do you agree.... answer yes :=)

Install path : This is the installation directory. You will have to enter this directory each time you want to create a new SaadaDB. A subdirectory with the distribution name is created. The path to this subdirectory is referenced by the SAADA_HOME generic name.

Tomcat Home : Saada needs to know where Tomcat has to set up its application deploy tool. We suppose that all SaadaDBs will use the same instance of Tomcat.

    • If Tomcat is moved, just edit the file SAADA_HOME/bin/saadadb.properties.
    • Do the same with SAADA_DB_HOME/bin/saadadb.properties to connect a SaadaDB to another Tomcat instance.
    • If the Tomcat file system is not accessible from your machine you can not use the Saada deploy tool.

Loading the demo or not : We advice you to load the demo. This small package ( 5Mb) allows you to build very quickly a small database and to check if everything is OK. It also gives you a template to create your SaadaDB in script mode.
