Testing TAP

TAP service can not be tested from the WEB interface. It can however be operated by generic clients

 TAP access

  • TopCAT is enable to connect a Saada TAP service even if it is not published in the Internet
    • Run Topcat
      Ex : javaws -Xmx=1024m ’http://www.star.bris.ac.uk/ mbt/top...
    • Select Table Access Protocol in the VO menu
    • Type the service URL
      Ex : http://localhost:8080/SaadaDBName/tap
    • Click on Use Service and go ahead
  • Once the TAP service is operated by a public server, it can be accessed through Taphandle
    • Connect
      http://yourserver/SaadaDBName/tap
You will be automatically redirected to the TapHandle page.
    • You can also paste your TAP URL (http://localhost:8080/SaadaDBName/tap) in the TAPHandle search bar. Note the degree of similarity between TAPHandle and the Saada Web interface, they are using the same toolkit.
