Using the Query Editor

The graphical query editor offers a simple way to use all of the SaadaQL features. Queries can contain as much constraints as needed. Query strings can be directly refined by hand.

 The query editor

  • The query editor is expended/collapsed by clicking on
  • It has different tabs, active or not according to the curren t data category :
    • No query by position for table headers
    • No match pattern queries for dataset without relationships
  • Query by position

    • Search positions can be either by name or by coordinates
    • Each new position must be added to the query by clicking on the blue arrow
    • Positions can be given as a TSV list of either coordinates or object names :
      #comment
      04:18:25.81+56:10:29.0
      17:33:21.00-32:34:12.0
      M33
      M34
      M35
      M36

    • Saada also supports search by polygonal regions.
  • Query by keywords
    • You can stack as many keyword based constraints as you want on the query.
    • Constraints are edited one by one
  • Refining the query by hand
    • The query string can be edited by hand in the Plain Text Query tab.
    • This breaks the synchronization with the widgets. Any action on any widget will override the modification done by hand.
