Since 1.7, upgrading a SaadaDB is a safe operation because the data storage has not changed.

  From 1.7 a SaadaDB can easily be upgraded either by script or with a graphical tool.

  Graphical tool

• Install the new Saada version
• Go in SAADA_HOME/bin and run the following command

  % ./upgrade

  Select the base directory of the SaadaDB you want to upgrade. You can also make a backup before the upgrade.

  By Script (headless machine)

• Install the new Saada version
• Go in SAADA_HOME/bin and run the following command

  % ./sant upgrade -Dsaadadbhome=SAADADB_HOME

  where SAADADB_HOME is the full path to the SaadaDB to upgrade
